Michael’s Poem

Hearts Woven, hearts been broken,

Deep down my chest I’ve been sliced wide open.

Born not knowing, scars clearly showing,

The pain and discomfort but I am slowly growing.

The power of a man to understand what’s in his hand,

He’s dumbfounded in the light but still sticks to the plan.

Unfolded the truth untold to be shown,

Scars lie even deeper than what he’s ever known.

Wicked limits hassled and strangled the life from within,

Fighting every breath for forgiveness of sin.

Painted melodies of gluttony and sorrow,

He often feels like his life is being borrowed.

He fights and fights just wanting to be heard,

His heart sings but without any words.

His heart aches for just one day to be healthy,

But even he knows money can’t save him, no matter how wealthy.

That’s why he remains smiling, and is happy as can be,

Even though, his scars will never leave.
