The Share Your Heart Essay Contest was designed so people of all ages can show how they share their hearts through an essay or a poem. Instead of being defeated by heart disease, people impacted by heart disease can, and do, use their experiences to improve the lives of others.
Heart disease is not limited to the effect on the heart, but can also affect other areas of life, including emotional and physical health. Providing hope and a caring support network to patients with heart disease and their families is the first step to creating connections that let people know they are not alone. The Share Your Heart campaign is designed to do just that—to inspire hope and improve the quality of life of heart patients, those who care for them, and their families.
Children from elementary school up through high school and adults of any age can enter an essay or a poem. This is an opportunity to share your story and therefore share your heart through storytelling or poetry.
All participants must follow the rules of the contest that can be found HERE. Stories will be judged by age group by an independent panel of judges using a specific rubric.
